GWI published its Gen Z study recently, and they found that 43% of Gen Z in Nigeria paid for study programs last month, vs. 11% of Gen Z in Germany. I’m glad to see this happening in Nigeria – and sad to see the number is that low in Germany. I feel like, in the next few years, the map of brains will change more than ever: people in emerging countries now have access to the most advanced educational centers in history (LLMs), and with the right stimulus they’re likely to produce a new gen of top managers. Funny enough, crypto probably played an important role here. During the airdrop golden age, 70–80% of all farmers were Nigerians, Indonesians, or Indians – so they may have earned their first money farming airdrops, and now they can afford to invest in education. I might be wrong, though, and the only thing this GWI insight indicates is that Germans just don’t buy educational courses and instead study with AI, haha. But I wanted to bring this up as an interesting angle for discussion. Let me know what you think
