After reviewing this BNB Chain quarterly report, I definitely need to take a closer look at on-chain equities. According to Blockworks, tokenized equity trading volume reached approximately $2.56 billion in Q3, up from about $240 million in the previous quarter. This figure represents cumulative trading volume from repeated transactions and should not be interpreted as $2.56 billion in new capital entering the market. What I find more significant is that the on-chain supply of these assets reached $1.13 billion by the end of the quarter—roughly double the amount at the end of the prior quarter. Beyond trading volume, the asset base has grown as well. However, the “11-fold increase in trading volume” must be viewed in context: bStocks only launched in June, making Q3 its first full quarter, and the prior quarter’s baseline was extremely short. The key takeaway I want to retain from this report is this: on-chain equities on BNB Chain have now reached a level of trading volume and asset size worthy of serious attention.
