⚠️ A member just reported to the team that $27K was stolen from their Trust Wallet. According to their account, they were using iOS 16 and had written their seed phrase on paper only—no online storage. Moments after clicking on a Trust Wallet update pop-up, they discovered their funds had been transferred out. The exact cause of this incident remains unconfirmed, but recently, SlowMist issued a warning about the DarkSword & Coruna malware, which exploits vulnerabilities in iPhones. On older iOS versions, attackers can gain device access simply by having victims visit a malicious website via Safari—without requiring the seed phrase or transaction signatures. Notably, the affected member was using Trust Wallet on iOS 16. This malware is capable of collecting wallet data, attempting to decrypt wallet keys, checking balances, and consolidating assets. The member’s case shares some similarities with this attack, though there is currently insufficient evidence to definitively link it to DarkSword. In summary, we’re sharing this case as a warning: always keep your iOS updated to patch security vulnerabilities, and exercise extreme caution when interacting with suspicious websites or pop-ups. IF YOU SUSPECT YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN COMPROMISED, DO NOT CONTINUE USING YOUR OLD WALLET TO STORE ASSETS. Instead, use a clean device to create a brand-new wallet with a completely new seed phrase and transfer your funds there.
