I ran one real $SOL setup through Quant AI with a $100 trading wallet to see how risk percentage changes everything. Setup Entry: $105 Stop-loss: $100 (4.76% distance) Account: $100 What Quant AI showed me 0.5% risk → $0.50 at risk Position size: $10.50 (~0.10 SOL) Margin needed at 5x: $2.101% risk → $1.00 at risk Position size: $21.00 (~0.20 SOL) Margin needed at 5x: $4.202% risk → $2.00 at risk Position size: $42.00 (~0.40 SOL) Margin needed at 5x: $8.40 Position size scales linearly. Double the risk, double the size. The potential loss stays exactly at your chosen risk budget assuming clean fill. Leverage doesn’t set the risk position size does. Fees, funding, and slippage can still push the actual loss slightly higher than planned. What I asked Quant AI “Analyze this trading setup using three different risk levels: 0.5%, 1%, and 2% of my account.” “How would my position size change if I used the same entry and stop-loss?” “What would the potential loss look like in each scenario?” “How could leverage, fees, and slippage affect my actual risk?” My takeaway For a $100 account I’d stick to 0.5–1%. The 2% size feels aggressive once you see the margin and liquidation distance side by side. The goal is not the biggest profit it is understanding exposure before you click buy.
