The next phase of the AI economy won't just be about what agents can do. It will be about whether anyone can trust the agents they do business with. An AI agent might find a supplier, negotiate a price and pay for a service in USDC. But a successful payment doesn't tell the supplier whether the agent represents a legitimate business, who authorised it, or who can be held accountable if something goes wrong. This creates a problem for businesses. They may be ready to work with AI agents, but trusting an unfamiliar wallet is not the same as trusting the person or business behind it. Concordium's Agent Registry was built to close this gap. It connects an agent to a verified owner while keeping their personal identity information private. The interesting part is how this idea is spreading. When the Registry launched in May, developers could register agents and connect them to verified owners. Adoption then expanded to individual agents on external networks, including Ethereum and Solana. Now, the collaboration with @XDCNetwork marks a new stage in that journey. XDC AI already allows agents to discover services and pay in USDC. @Concordium adds a way to verify that a person or business stands behind those agents, without putting the owner's personal information onchain. The important change is the move from individual agents adopting verification to an entire external agent marketplace adopting Concordium's identity layer. Previously, developers could verify individual agents operating on supported external networks. With XDC AI, the verification system is integrated across the marketplace, allowing its agents to obtain a Verified by Concordium badge. Agents can continue operating on XDC Network. Their owners can establish a verifiable link to their identity, and businesses can check that link before engaging with them. The badge doesn't guarantee an agent will always behave correctly. It establishes that a verified person or business stands behind it. This milestone demonstrates how the Agent Registry is evolving beyond its initial launch. Concordium is no longer simply offering developers a way to verify individual agents. Its identity infrastructure is now being adopted by an external network to support accountability across an entire marketplace. As AI agents become more involved in everyday commerce, connecting their actions to verified owners could help businesses work with them more confidently, without sacrificing privacy. So, the next stage of agent adoption isn't just about giving AI more freedom to act. It's about making sure someone can answer for those actions.
