Interesting developments for $MSTR: MSCI did not remove Strategy from its indexes on Thursday. It finalized the rule that decides whether Strategy goes. TLDR: The list of companies that come out lands Nov 11, and any removal takes effect after the Nov 30 close. What happened: · MSCI finalized eligibility rules for companies whose main business looks more like holding investments than running operations · A company that fails the operating assets screen is then tested on five financial ratios, and fails if it misses at least four · A current index member comes out only if it fails in both of its two most recent annual filings · MSCI’s own simulation on May 2026 data named Strategy, Metaplanet and Yellow Cake as deletion candidates Why it matters: · Funds that track MSCI indexes would have to sell. JPMorgan earlier estimated about 2.8 billion dollars of that selling for Strategy alone · Strategy fell 11.3 percent last week to 136.83, most of it on Friday · The company reports earnings Oct 29, thirteen days before the list In a filing this morning, Strategy reported its week from Oct 12 to Oct 18, the week the rule was finalized: · It bought 267 bitcoin for about 22 million dollars, bringing its holdings to 848,517 · It paid for them by selling about 141,000 new common shares · It bought back about 193 million dollars of its STRC preferred stock and raised that buyback program to 3 billion dollars from 2 billion The preferred buyback was about nine times the size of the bitcoin purchase. Until Nov 11, Strategy is a deletion candidate. The confirmed list comes out that day. Save this until Nov 11 when the list lands .
