The memecoin graveyard is full of “experts” 🪦 While BTC is holding relatively well around $81.5k, the memecoin sector is back in full “everything down” mode. Total market cap sits around $25-30 billion (down from peaks near $150 billion at the end of 2024), with an average drop of roughly -10% over the last 7 days. DOGE, SHIB, PEPE, BONK and the rest are bleeding, while the smaller tokens on Solana, Base and https://t.co/fper60cUox are getting hit even harder. A lot of people lost serious money. Not just late retail, but also experienced traders and “experts” who thought they could read the market. Classic memecoin behavior: it pumps fast, dumps faster, and the ones left holding the bag are usually the ones who bought the hype. A recent Coin Metrics study makes it brutally clear: only 3% of memecoins ever reclaim their all-time high. The average peak arrives just 17 days after listing, then the long decline begins (81% drop at least 90% from the top). Attention is cooling and turnover on DOGE and SHIB has collapsed compared to a year ago. What do I think happens in the next few weeks? More pain or, at best, choppy sideways action. I don’t see a broad revival anytime soon. Attention is scarce, capital is rotating into “realer” assets or just waiting on BTC, and most new tokens die within days. There will still be isolated pumps (new TikTok narratives, celebrity plays, Solana trenches), but they’ll be fast and punishing for late entries. The stronger survivors (mainly DOGE and a handful with real community and liquidity) will hold up better than the rest, but even they stay highly correlated to BTC and overall risk-on sentiment. Bottom line: most will keep bleeding or die, a few will survive, and anyone expecting an immediate “memecoin supercycle” is likely to get hit again. How are you holding up? Still bagholding or did you cut losses? Do you see this as just a pause or a real filtering of the cycle? (Not financial advice. Memecoins remain pure gambling.) #Memecoin #Crypto #DOGE #SHIB #PEPE #CryptoCrash #Altcoins #Bitcoin #Memecoins #CryptoNews #Trading #RiskOn #CryptoMarkets
