Once again, hundreds, thousands of likes for something promising quick, easy money. The fantasy of getting rich easily from memecoins is being repackaged into the fantasy that AI and copy trading will do it for you. Apparently understanding what you’re buying is optional once a chatbot approves it. AI can help analyse information, but a convincing explanation for a trade is hardly evidence that it will make money. A profitable wallet can have unprofitable followers. They enter later, get different prices and pay their own execution costs. An impressive win rate also means very little without the size of the losses, and ranking yesterday’s winners doesn’t establish tomorrow’s edge. Adding an AI layer doesn’t remove any of those problems. What bothers me is how conveniently this dream aligns with the business model. Platforms collect trading fees, and referral promoters can earn commissions whether the referred trader wins or loses. Their incentive is activity; your objective is profit. Those interests can diverge completely. Now retail gets to pay an AI to help it lose money copying someone else’s memecoin trades, with an API bill on top of the trading costs. Apparently getting farmed manually wasn’t expensive enough.
