Solana cutting block times from 400ms to 200ms may actually be a big deal for the trenches. I think this will make Solana feel way more responsive for onchain trading. Swaps may get included faster, trading bots will have more frequent opportunities to land transactions, and arbers could react to price gaps across exchanges much quicker. It may also make it harder for validators to delay or reorder transactions since they will have less time controlling each block. But don't get it twisted, this doesn't necessarily mean more TPS. The computing limit per block will be reduced too, so total theoretical processing capacity per second may stay roughly the same. IMO, the biggest benefit here will be lower latency, which could make a real difference during fast-moving launches, volatile markets, and memecoin trenches where every millisecond counts. This will not magically send $SOL to the moon or guarantee lower fees, but I think making Solana more responsive for onchain trading is a pretty big upgrade if everything works as intended.
