A Conviction is the unit everything on @xomarket starts as. It's a market anyone can launch, where the person creating it sets the opening odds themselves instead of inheriting them from a house line. Most people assume a Conviction only counts once it's big. It doesn't. Forty traders who genuinely care about the answer is a Conviction that has already done its job completely. That's not a market limping along waiting for attention. It's the platform working exactly as intended, because the traction bar for existing was never mass appeal, it was $10 and an opinion somebody was willing to stand behind. Big platforms can't afford markets that size; the overhead of listing and running one only pencils out if enough people show up. @xomarket doesn't have that constraint, so the long tail actually gets to exist instead of getting filtered out before anyone sees it. Some Convictions do take off the way a piece of content occasionally goes viral: impossible to predict in advance, and genuinely rare when it happens. When one crosses a real traction threshold, it graduates. It gets pulled off the long tail and onto the main Markets tab, with the visibility and the deeper liquidity that comes with being a fully arrived Prediction Market instead of somebody's niche idea. The market creator who listed it doesn't lose ownership of that upside just because it grew past them. The 40-person Conviction and the graduated market trading real size are both the system succeeding. They're just two different sizes of the same idea: a belief, priced, by whoever cared enough to be the one who listed it first. https://t.co/j8HHMs1oKb
