😱 Are they even going to block DeFi now? According to a report submitted to the Financial Services Commission by the Financial Research Institute, there is a need to restrict domestic access and trading with unauthorized DeFi and OTC operators. Even if a DeFi platform is based overseas, if it serves users in Korea, it could become subject to regulation. The report even considers requiring platforms that assist users in transferring coins to personal wallets to register or report their activities. As someone who frequently uses DeFi for airdrops, I’m concerned this could become a real regulation— it would be extremely inconvenient. Are they gradually expanding the regulatory scope to include DeFi, following exchanges? But note: this is not yet finalized regulation— it’s still at the proposal stage by the Financial Research Institute. They’re really trying to shut down DeFi… 😥
