I made the trip to witness the new strategic expansion from the @DCENTWALLETS team, whom I’ve been following for a long time. The reason? Recently, Decent experienced unfortunate issues with its software wallet—coinciding precisely with the launch of their new hardware product. I wanted to observe the company’s internal atmosphere and direction. In fact, Decent is essentially the only remaining hardware manufacturing company in Korea. While software wallet issues must never happen again, I firmly believe the business itself must not fade away due to hardship. That’s why I was even more curious. Upon arriving, I found that Decent was co-hosting the event with @StellarOrg, and the venue was packed to capacity. Decent has long worked closely with the Ripple ecosystem, but this time, I sensed a clear expansion into the Stellar ecosystem as a key partner. I also saw Decent’s new hardware product and its card-style offering—both of which were impressively executed. The new hardware wallet, in particular, featured a more angular and refined design, with the fingerprint sensor relocated to the side for improved usability. I plan to purchase and examine the product in detail when the opportunity arises. Personally, I hope Decent emerges from this incident stronger than ever, ensuring such issues never recur—and that it continues building not only robust hardware but also a solid, on-chain-based ecosystem.
