Before stepping into the office, I stopped by the booth for @gmgnai and had a brief chat. The question I asked was simple: “So, what’s your endgame?” The staff member at the booth couldn’t provide an answer, so I ended up speaking with the co-founder, @arthur_gmgn. Here’s a summary of our brief conversation: “We’ve been active in this ecosystem for three years now—originally starting with NFTs. It didn’t go well at first, but Gmgn has a solid business model, and we’re seeing strong growth today.” “Our primary trading base consists of retail traders who trade memecoins. The institutional demand you mentioned—I previously noted that liquidity will likely shift toward institutions—is definitely going to grow. We’re currently exploring ways within the team to tap into that opportunity.” “While tokenized stocks and memecoins might eventually migrate to platforms like Robinhood, ARK, or even Solana, we see ourselves as a terminal—unrestricted by limitations tied to specific chains or protocols. We believe we should simply follow where liquidity moves.” The company is currently headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Singapore and the U.S., and I confirmed that the team member handling Korea speaks fluent Korean. Personally, I don’t trade Puff or memecoins heavily, so it’s not my main area of activity—but I anticipate that platforms offering the most convenient user experience, simplest onboarding, and easiest access to liquidity will ultimately survive. I also expect growing demand for pairing memecoins with tokenized stocks on platforms like Robinhood, ARK, Solana, and Binance Chain in the near future.
