KB Kookmin Bank, South Korea's largest lender, partnered with Bank of New York Mellon to enhance cross-border digital asset payments through BNY's Pay-to-Wallet service. The memorandum of understanding was signed at Sibos 2026 in Miami on September 28. The service enables banks to send payments from traditional accounts directly to digital wallets abroad using existing SWIFT infrastructure and correspondent banking networks, without requiring new payment rails. KB Kookmin will initially target overseas remittances for foreign residents and international students in South Korea.
