Strategy has added another 950 BTC to its Bitcoin holdings for about $75.7 million.

The company bought the Bitcoin between September 14 and September 20 at an average price of $79,670 per BTC. Following the purchase, Strategy reported total holdings of 846,000 BTC. The company said the latest purchase was funded with cash. The latest purchase is relatively small compared with the company's existing Bitcoin holdings, but it is still useful to look at because it shows that Strategy continues to maintain its Bitcoin treasury strategy.

The timing also gives the purchase some context.

Bitcoin later moved above $85,000, while Strategy's latest purchases were made at an average price of $79,670. The purchase therefore happened during a period when Bitcoin was already recovering but before the latest move through $85,000.

The company was also making other capital allocation decisions during the same period.

Strategy repurchased about $174 million of its STRC preferred shares. Reports based on the company's filing also said there were no sales through its at the market common stock programs during the reporting period. This makes the update more useful when viewed as a capital allocation story rather than simply a Bitcoin purchase.

The company had cash available and used it for different purposes. One part went toward Bitcoin, while another amount went toward buying back preferred shares. The company also has its normal financial obligations, including dividends and interest payments.

That means the Bitcoin purchase should be viewed alongside the rest of the company's balance sheet and financing decisions.

The 846,000 BTC figure is the bigger part of the update.

Strategy now holds a very large amount of Bitcoin, so individual purchases need to be considered in relation to the size of the existing treasury. The latest 950 BTC adds to that position, but it does not change the overall size of the treasury by a large amount.

Another part of the discussion is Bitcoin per share.

When a company holds Bitcoin, shareholders are not only interested in the total number of BTC held. They can also look at how those holdings relate to the number of shares outstanding.

If Bitcoin holdings increase while the share count also increases, the change in Bitcoin exposure per share can be different from the change in total Bitcoin holdings.

This is why the company's financing activity is relevant when looking at its Bitcoin strategy.

The source of funding for a purchase also matters. Strategy said the latest 950 BTC purchase was made using cash. Reports also indicated that the company did not sell common stock through its at the market programs during this period. The company is therefore making Bitcoin purchases while also managing other parts of its capital structure.

For the Bitcoin market, the purchase is one example of corporate demand. It should not be taken as evidence that other companies or investors will make the same decision. Each institution has its own balance sheet, financing structure and investment policy.

What can be observed is that Strategy continues to add Bitcoin to a treasury that already contains 846,000 BTC.

The next question is whether this becomes a regular pattern of purchases or whether the size and timing of future purchases change.

That will give the market more information about how the company is managing its Bitcoin holdings.

For now, the latest figures are clear. Strategy bought 950 BTC for about $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per BTC. Its reported holdings increased to 846,000 BTC, while it also repurchased about $174 million of its preferred shares.

Those figures provide a useful view of how the company is allocating capital and how its Bitcoin treasury continues to develop. $BTC
