We might still be in a corrective structure. It can be a simple ABC in which case we look for 5 waves down to complete the correction or it can be a more tricky WXY where Y has to be a three-wavy structure.

I both cases, C and Y can fail to take out the local low. But it is more common to grab the liquidity below and then go for a new high.
