US JUST BET A QUARTER OF ITS ECONOMY ON AI his words, friday, in writing: AI will be "possibly as much as 25% of our Country's GDP." the american economy is about 32 trillion dollars. he is talking about eight trillion of it. that is not a forecast. it is a position. and the rest of the post is what the state is willing to do to protect that position: "we will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows." then an AI Force, modeled on Space Force. and an AI czar, soon. no budget. no staff. no powers. no name. now put it next to the other number from the same week. Anthropic's CEO wrote that an agent swarm could take over the internet with a persistent botnet inside 6 to 12 months, "potentially causing hundreds of billions of dollars in damage." one of them is describing the bucket. the other is describing the hole. so what happens when something actually breaks? he answered that too, in the sentence everyone scrolled past: "we can do that, very easily, with our already existing Criminal and Civil Justice System." that is the whole enforcement plan. no new agency. no new law. civil courts. and it is not a stupid position. almost everything an agent can do wrong is already illegal under something. but "already existing civil law" means there is no AI rule to hide behind. it is plain liability. plain liability follows whoever deployed the thing. not the lab. not the model. the person who pressed run. i put agent setups inside other people's companies. the state just bet eight trillion dollars that nothing goes wrong, and quietly named who pays if it does.
