💙 Bacalar, Mexico 🇲🇽 Bacalar is located in Quintana Roo and is famous for its Lagoon of Seven Colors. The name comes from the incredible range of water shades, from almost transparent to deep turquoise. 🌊 The changing colors are influenced by water depth, the lagoon floor and the way sunlight passes through the water. In some areas, the lagoon reaches around 90 meters deep. 🛶 The lagoon is also home to ancient freshwater formations called stromatolites.
