There are over hundreds of L9’s at Google . Level 9 is Senior Director, although in my experience they often don't use the “Senior” in practice. A Senior Director might have about 150–200 people in their org. So if there are about 30k engineers, there are about 200 Senior Directors to manage them all, plus about 40 VPs to manage them, and 10ish SVPs.
