Chinese universities may designate September as a concentrated month for cracking down on "wall-crossing" activities, with over 100 apps added to a blacklist. A netizen posted that a Chinese university notified students: “September is the concentrated month for rectifying ‘wall-crossing’ behavior,” requiring students not to access overseas websites, use overseas game accelerators, or install circumvention software, or face “serious consequences.” The university also issued a list of “commonly used circumvention clients,” naming at least 124 applications, including Clash, Shadowrocket, V2Ray, ProtonVPN, as well as game accelerators such as UU, Leishen, and Qiyou, and specifically warned students to avoid “unintentional ‘wall-crossing’ behavior.” Notably, on the same day, the Cyberspace Administration of China announced that the 2026 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week will be held from September 14 to 20, with September 15 designated as “Campus Day,” during which various cybersecurity initiatives will be conducted on campuses nationwide.
