There is a version of @Starbucks that only exists around exam season. You know it immediately. Half the tables have laptops open. Someone is highlighting notes like their life depends on it. There are iced cups sitting untouched because everyone forgot they ordered them. And then there was us. My friend looked up from his laptop: “Tell me you studied Chapter 6.” I stopped drinking. “…there’s a Chapter 6?” That silence told me everything. 💀📚 Suddenly our relaxed pre-exam coffee became an emergency meeting. He pushed his laptop toward me. “Okay. You explain this diagram.” “I don’t understand it.” “Perfect. Neither do I.” For the next 35 minutes we basically taught each other using screenshots, terrible analogies and sentences beginning with: “I THINK what they mean is…” The funniest part? My Starbucks drink went from ice-cold to completely watered down because I forgot it existed. Then someone at the next table packed up, looked at the mountain of notes between us and said: “Good luck.” That somehow felt more serious than anything our professor had said. We walked out with maybe 60% understanding and 200% confidence. Did Starbucks help us pass? Absolutely not claiming that. 😂 But that table became our little pre-exam headquarters. And now every time I see students surrounded by notebooks at Starbucks, I wonder: Are they calmly revising… or did someone just discover Chapter 6?
