It started raining so hard that I walked into @Starbucks for shelter, not coffee. I was already late, my shoes were soaked, and my umbrella had basically resigned from its job. The barista looked at me and laughed: “Rough day?” “Apparently the weather has personal issues with me.” I ordered something hot and took the first empty seat I could find. What was supposed to be a five-minute escape turned into almost forty minutes. Outside, everyone was running between cars and fighting umbrellas. Inside, someone was reading near the window, two friends were sharing headphones, and one guy was working like the rain had personally extended his deadline. I just sat there with both hands around the cup. No rush. No scrolling. Just watching the windows slowly fog up. When the rain finally slowed, I realized my mood had too. That’s one thing I genuinely like about Starbucks. Sometimes you choose to go there. Sometimes the day basically pushes you through the door. And weirdly, those unplanned coffee stops are often the ones I remember. Now I’m curious: has bad weather ever accidentally given you one of your best coffee breaks?
