The first time I went to @Starbucks alone, I thought everyone would notice. They did not. Not even slightly. 😂 I walked in thinking: “Okay, order normally. Find a seat. Do not look like someone who has been abandoned.” Meanwhile, literally nobody cared. One person was reading. Someone had a laptop open. Another person was just staring outside. So I sat down. At first I kept checking my phone because apparently sitting alone without touching a screen felt illegal. Then eventually I put it away. And something strange happened. I actually enjoyed being there by myself. No conversation to maintain. No deciding when everyone wanted to leave. No sharing fries. No “let me taste your drink.” Just me and whatever pace I wanted. That one visit changed solo coffee for me completely. Now I understand why people intentionally take themselves out for coffee. It isn’t lonely. It’s quiet. Those are very different things. And sometimes spending thirty minutes alone in a busy place is exactly the reset I need. The funniest part? I was worried everyone would think I had no friends. Everyone else was far too busy living their own lives to even notice me. Very humbling. Very freeing. ☕️📖
