XRP Is Quietly Losing Momentum as $1.00 Becomes the Level to Watch
XRP has been struggling to maintain momentum while much of the crypto market remains trapped in a narrow trading range. The token recently traded around $1.03, down roughly 1% over the session, with technical indicators pointing toward continued short-term weakness.
The most important level may now be psychological rather than technical: $1.00.
XRP has spent considerable time above that level, but repeated weakness around the $1.03–$1.05 area raises the possibility of another test of the round-number support.
The broader market isn't helping.
Bitcoin remains stuck around $65,000, while regulatory uncertainty surrounding the delayed CLARITY Act continues to limit enthusiasm across higher-beta crypto assets.
That matters because XRP tends to attract significant speculative interest when traders become confident about a broader altcoin rotation.
Right now, that rotation doesn't appear particularly broad.
Solana and a handful of smaller tokens have shown relative strength, while XRP has struggled to generate comparable momentum. Technical weakness is also visible through its negative MACD reading, suggesting that short-term momentum remains tilted toward sellers but there is an important distinction between weakness and a breakdown.
XRP hasn't decisively lost $1 yet.
If buyers defend that level and broader crypto liquidity improves, the current decline could simply represent another consolidation phase.
If $1 fails decisively, however, traders could begin treating the recent range as a distribution structure rather than accumulation.
For now, XRP's next meaningful signal may come not from a huge rally, but from whether $1 can continue functioning as support.
