Sun in, Bitcoin and beer out at this Australian brewery Hawkesbury Brewing Co on the NSW Central Coast submerged 16 $BTC miners in non-conductive liquid that heats to around 90 degrees, and a heat exchanger turns that into all the hot water its brewing needs, per ABC News. The rig runs only on excess rooftop solar, earning about $2,000 a month that nearly covers the power bill. The brewery went this route because grid feed-in fees made exporting solar pointless and insurers balked at batteries next to alcohol. The setup helps produce 100,000 liters of beer a month, and the brewery sees the same trick working for pools, apartment blocks, and factories, one more sign that mining heat is becoming a resource rather than waste.
