Verus Ethereum Bridge Hacked Again for $7.54 Million — Three Exploits Total $35.55 Million in One Day
$ETH
The Verus Ethereum Bridge suffered another exploit on July 23, with an attacker draining approximately **$7.54 million** from the same contract hit in May. The attacker abused the bridge's import path to trigger payouts not backed by matching assets on the source side. The exploit involved about **1,137 ETH** and multiple tokens including **tBTC, USDC, USDT, EURC, and MKR**. Blockaid confirmed the July attack used the **same bridge contract, same entry path, and same bug class** as the May exploit, which lost roughly $11.58 million. Three crypto exploits were reported within hours — AFX Trade, Verus, and B² Network — with combined losses of approximately $35.55 million.
