🇬🇧💰 The Bank of England removes limits on holdings of systemic stablecoins. It aims to transform them into useful payment rails. The new issuance limit will be £40 billion per stablecoin, with reserves of up to 70% in government debt. The goal is to facilitate cross-border payments and enhance liquidity within the system. UK residents will be able to use stablecoins without restrictions on size or frequency of payments. Regulated operations are planned for 2027.
