Bitcoin Just Snapped a Losing Streak Nobody Was Talking About

Bittensor, the decentralized machine learning network, is up 1.2% today to around $200, even as it is down 2.8% for the week. Its market cap is roughly $1.92 billion, and it remains 73.6% below its all-time high of $757.60.

That relatively flat individual performance hides a broader trend worth noticing. CoinGecko's Artificial Intelligence category, which tracks over 1,300 AI-linked tokens, posted a 3.2% gain over the last 24 hours, outperforming much of the rest of the market during a session where broader sentiment stayed mixed.

Bittensor's pitch is genuinely different from most "AI token" projects that just slap a chatbot onto an existing chain. Its network lets machine learning models train collaboratively across a decentralized set of participants, who earn TAO based on how useful their contributions are to the collective system.

It's less an AI product and more an attempt to build a market for AI itself, where producers and consumers of machine intelligence interact directly on-chain rather than through a centralized company controlling access.

The wider AI-token rotation happening today lines up with a pattern that's shown up repeatedly this year. When Bitcoin trades sideways or dips modestly, capital tends to look for a narrative with fresh catalysts rather than sit idle.

AI has been one of the more durable narratives because the underlying technology story keeps generating real headlines outside of crypto, too.

None of this means every AI token is a good trade. Sector rotations can reverse just as fast as they start, and TAO specifically remains well off its highs despite today's uptick.

Circulating supply dynamics also matter here, since Bittensor's fully diluted valuation sits well above its current market cap. That gap means further token unlocks could weigh on the price even if network usage keeps growing.
