$XRP BURNS 10M RLUSD — TOKENIZED U.S. TREASURY BILLS SURGE 52% TO $5.2B
Ripple continues reducing the supply of its dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD, burning a further 10 million tokens and reducing the supply by approximately 20% compared to its peak in May.
The move comes as the tokenized U.S. Treasury bill market surges 52% to a record $5.2 billion, with RWAs across all categories hitting $36.6 billion. In another sign of institutional adoption, the DTCC — which holds securities worth over $114 trillion — is beginning to test the tokenization of shares and U.S. Treasury bonds.
Around 40 major financial institutions are participating in the project, including JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Vanguard, and the NYSE.
