✨ The Name of Allah: As-Salam
Allah, the Exalted, says:
﴿He is Allah, besides whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Peace﴾
[Al-Hashr: 23]
As-Salam is one of the Most Beautiful Names of Allah, mentioned once in the Qur’an and numerous times in the Prophetic Sunnah. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, Allah is As-Salam.”
And when he ﷺ concluded his prayer, he would say:
“O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.”
🌿 Who is Allah, As-Salam?
As-Salam is the One free from every defect and flaw, perfect in His essence, His names, His attributes, and His actions. He does not wrong anyone, nor does He act unjustly in His judgment; nothing emanates from Him except goodness, justice, and wisdom.
And as a perfection of His Name As-Salam, He guides His servants to the paths of peace in this world, then calls them to the Abode of Peace in the Hereafter—where there is no fear, no grief, no illness, no death—only lasting bliss and eternal peace.
🌿 How does believing in the Name of Allah, As-Salam, transform my life?
When a servant truly knows his Lord by His Name As-Salam and lives by its meanings, it produces peace in every aspect of his life:
• Peace with Allah: through obedience, following His commands, and emulating His Messenger ﷺ—thus hoping for His mercy and fearing His punishment.
• Peace with oneself: the heart becomes tranquil, one is content with Allah’s decree, lives with a calm soul, and submits fully to the judgment of one’s Lord.
• Peace with others: one treats them kindly, forgives, pardons, and spreads peace among them—becoming a cause of affection and love.
The more a servant deepens his knowledge of Allah’s Name As-Salam, the more his heart finds tranquility, his tongue becomes sweet, and his character improves—until he becomes a source of peace for himself and those around him.
🤲 Today’s Supplication
O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor. Send down tranquility upon our hearts, rectify our affairs, and make us among the people of peace in this world and among the people of the Abode of Peace in the Hereafter.
