AFTER MORE THAN A DECADE, SOME OF THE "LOST" BITCOIN HAS BEEN FOUND. Irish authorities have now recovered 1,500 $BTC, including another 500 $BTC recovered today. The coins belonged to a man who bought about 6,000 $BTC back in 2011, when Bitcoin was still worth just a few dollars. He didn't store the private keys online. He printed them on paper and hid them inside a fishing rod case, believing it was a safe place. Then everything changed. After he was arrested, his landlord cleared out the property and unknowingly threw the fishing rod case into the trash. With the private keys gone, the Bitcoin was believed to be lost forever. Even after the recent recovery, the story isn't over. Around 4,500 $BTC, now worth more than $270 million, is still missing. Sometimes the biggest risk isn't the market. It's where you choose to store your keys.
