Anthropic is bringing back Fable 5 but in a heavily nerfed form... instead of restoring the full powerful model, they’re adding strict new safety classifiers that block many legitimate tasks. Even basic coding and debugging will fall back to the weaker Opus 4.8 So no return of actut Fable 5. It’s a restricted, government approved version being sold as progress. Users waited weeks only to get a downgraded model with heavy limitations... most probably Openai will also do this with gpt 5.6 too, at this point it feels like frontier models are becoming more controlled and less useful with every release...
