Additionally, there were 15 M&A events with disclosed values totaling approximately $305 million. Overall, capital continued to concentrate in infrastructure, DeFi, and CeFi, with institutional capital markets, on-chain credit, derivatives trading, and stablecoin payments/settlement emerging as key growth areas. DeFi was the most active sector this month, with 18 investment, financing, and M&A events totaling approximately $330 million in disclosed funding. Morpho raised $175 million, becoming the largest DeFi financing deal of the month; Fomo secured a $75 million Series B round, demonstrating continued appeal in on-chain trading and consumer-facing entry points. The infrastructure sector recorded 13 events with disclosed funding of approximately $453 million—the highest by amount. Projects including Digital Asset, Ornn, and Trace Finance received funding to advance institutional capital markets, AI compute tokenization, and stablecoin settlement infrastructure, respectively. CeFi saw 12 events. Although non-M&A financing activity was limited, M&A and institutional trading services stood out. SBI Holdings acquired Japanese crypto exchange Bitbank for approximately $289 million—the largest M&A deal of the month. SignalPlus raised $50 million in a Series B1 round, and EDGE Markets raised $29.2 million in a Series A round, indicating that institutional trading, derivatives, and compliant financial services remain key focus areas for capital.
