What surprised me more than my first paycheck was how many congratulatory comments I received. Though the amount was small, everyone celebrated as if it were their own achievement— I truly felt like I’d just received my first salary. Even though I write alone, it’s wonderful to know I’m running alongside others. This week’s paycheck filled me with more lasting confidence than any bank balance ever could. My next goal?
