Crypto promoter "Bitcoin Rodney" just pleaded guilty in the $1.8 billion HyperFund fraud case. 🚨 HyperFund promised investors 0.5%–1% DAILY returns. Claimed profits came from massive crypto mining operations. Prosecutors say those mining operations never existed. Instead, new investor money was allegedly used to pay earlier investors while promoters pushed the scheme worldwide. Rodney Burton, better known as "Bitcoin Rodney," helped market HyperFund and admitted to conspiring to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business. Authorities say he personally received over $7.8 million from the scheme. At its peak, HyperFund raised roughly $1.8 billion from investors across the globe before withdrawals started getting blocked and the operation unraveled.
