Agentic AI has been talked about for half a year, but most projects remain stuck at the demo and code completion stage. Today, X-Agent introduced the Agent Application Layer at Fudan University—potentially the first infrastructure solution to truly connect creation, deployment, distribution, and monetization into a closed loop. It is not just another AI coding tool. In X-Agent’s architecture, an Agent App must be able to connect to business states, invoke external tools, complete tasks within defined boundaries, and then be discovered and used by users. This means agents are no longer developers’ toys, but products built around usage and tasks that form a commercial闭环. The key lies in X-Agent’s integration of four critical layers: Builder, Runtime, Payment, and Distribution. Previously, agent projects were stuck at “it runs but can’t be sold.” X-Agent aims to solve this: developers build an agent, users can directly invoke it and pay per use, while the platform handles distribution and settlement—much like how the App Store catalyzed the mobile ecosystem. But risks are clear. Such platforms are highly susceptible to centralization; if distribution and payment are monopolized by a single entity, the agent ecosystem could replay the “Apple tax” dilemma of the mobile internet. Additionally, security boundaries for agents and prompt injection attacks remain unresolved—if agents are maliciously exploited, how should platform liability be defined? X-Agent is moving in the right direction: turning agents from experiments into tradable goods. But whether it succeeds depends on its ability to strike a balance between openness and commercial efficiency. #ai #blockchain #cryptomarket #crypto #web3
