🚨Japan is treating crypto more like traditional finance now. Crypto gains are moving from a heavy tax burden to a flat 20% rate, similar to stocks and bonds. Bitcoin and Ethereum will also fall under the same financial instrument framework used for securities. That means clearer rules, insider trading enforcement, tougher penalties for unregistered sellers, and possibly crypto ETFs in Japan as early as next year. This feels less like crypto being ignored by regulators and more like it being absorbed into the financial system.
