$Sui: The Moves Made Quietly
While down 80%, the Sui chain has quietly locked in several major developments ⬇️
CME futures officially launched in May. Globally, only four L1s—BTC, ETH, SOL, and SUI—have secured CME contracts. Simultaneously, three U.S. institutions—Bitwise, VanEck, and 21Shares—filed for SUI spot ETFs in tandem. Nasdaq-listed company SUIG accumulated 100 million SUI during this downturn and hasn’t sold a single token.
Stripe’s Bridge chose Sui for its stablecoin issuance—not Ethereum, not Solana. The bigger move followed: USDC transfers on Sui are now permanently free, with fees set to zero. The significance lies in the fact that Sui is the first L1 to embed zero-fee stablecoin transfers at the protocol level.
Sui’s confidence comes from traction: cumulative on-chain stablecoin transfer volume surged past $1 trillion between August 2025 and March 2026.
Early VC unlock pressure is now fully cleared, removing large-scale structural sell pressure. The network upgraded to Mysticeti v2 in November, cutting latency to 390ms and raising the TPS ceiling to 100,000
