🇮🇳 INDIA IS PREPARING TO BAN POLYMARKET AND KALSHI UNDER SECTION 69A. But the numbers tell a different story. Polymarket and Kalshi have already seen more than $44 billion in trading volume in 2025 alone. One IPL match - LSG vs RCB - generated $27.7 million in trading volume in just one day. Indian users are already creating huge activity on these platforms, but India gets no tax revenue, no control, and no oversight from it. The US faced the same situation in 2022. Instead of banning Polymarket forever, they fined it $1.4 million and later regulated it. By 2025, Polymarket became legal in the US. Now Kalshi is valued at $5 billion with backing from big investors like Sequoia, a16z, and Paradigm. India is taking the opposite approach. People are already using VPNs to access these platforms, and now the government is trying to block VPN providers too. But demand cannot be banned. You can only decide who benefits from it. Regulate it → India keeps the business and tax revenue. Ban it → the money and liquidity move outside India. The blocking order is expected today. And India may have just missed a huge opportunity.
