It's unreal to listen to acclaimed economist Steve Keen make uninformed, false statements about Bitcoin. He starts off saying @maxkeiser and @stacyherbert introduced him to Bitcoin before proving he has no idea how Bitcoin works in his botched explanation of proof of work. He then goes off on a tangent about how we're destroying the planet by trying to create more energy. The future of humanity depends on humans creating abundant, renewable energy. No-one can really argue that burning fossil fuels is sustainable or good. But we know nuclear fusion is possible and the creation of limitless energy is what will make humanity truly multiplanetary. But that is the entire point of energy creation. It takes work, it cannot be faked or printed. This is the key reason why Bitcoin is such a revolutionary approach to a monetary protocol. The network requires us to expend computatioanl resource and energy in order to secure the network and rule out reliance on a central party.
