The Chain Relay Network operates its two-sided marketplace portal that connects developers and infrastructure providers through its native cryptocurrency, CRLN. Both parties stake CRLN to participate in the network, with developers staking a fixed amount for a guaranteed number of relays per session, while node providers stake on a per-node basis and are rewarded in CRLN for servicing relays. The upfront purchase of CRLN eliminates recurring payments to legacy infrastructure providers, and the stake can be recovered by selling it to another user if the service is no longer needed. CRLN rewards for node providers are dynamic and proportional to the number of relays and transaction fees in a given block.
