Across Protocol (ACX) enables you to transfer tokens between Ethereum and Layer 2 blockchains efficiently. It uses "intents," which are cross-chain limit orders combined with specific actions, to simplify your transactions. This approach allows relayers to compete in providing the best execution path for you.

The protocol operates with a single liquidity pool on Ethereum's mainnet, enhancing capital efficiency. When you initiate a transfer, bonded relayers provide short-term liquidity, ensuring quick transactions. These relayers are later reimbursed from the liquidity pool after verification by UMA's optimistic oracle, which ensures the security and validity of your transactions.

This design offers you fast, low-cost, and secure cross-chain token transfers. Developers can also integrate Across Protocol into decentralized applications to create seamless cross-chain experiences for users.

Across Protocol (ACX) launched on November 8, 2021. Risk Labs, the foundation behind UMA Protocol, developed it.

In November 2022, Across introduced its governance token, $ACX, to decentralize protocol control. By March 2023, Across had bridged over $1.5 billion in assets across five chains, expanded its team to 20 members, and secured $10 million in funding from strategic investors.

In 2023, Across focused on enhancing cross-chain interoperability, expanding to multiple EVM chains, and improving capital efficiency. By January 2024, Across had surpassed $4 billion in total bridged volume and continued to develop new features to improve user experience. 

As of January 2025, Across Protocol has completed over 10 billion transactions with a combined TVL of over $14 billion.

The ACX token serves several purposes within the Across Protocol ecosystem:

1. Governance: As an ACX holder, you can participate in decision-making processes that affect the protocol's functionality and the management of the DAO's treasury.

2. Incentives: ACX tokens are used to reward liquidity providers, encouraging them to supply liquidity to the protocol, which enhances its efficiency and effectiveness.

3. $ACX Staking: You can stake ACX tokens to earn passive income, contributing to the protocol's security and stability.

Additionally, you can trade Across Protocol tokens on various exchanges, such as the KuCoin Spot Market, allowing you to buy, sell, or hold ACX as part of your investment strategy.

The ACX token is an ERC-20 token that enables decentralized ownership and control of the Across Protocol. 

The total supply of ACX tokens is fixed at 1 billion. The initial allocation of ACX tokens is as follows:

> DAO Treasury: 52.5% (525 million tokens)

> Strategic Partnerships and Fundraise: 25% (250 million tokens)

> Airdrop: 12.5% (125 million tokens)

> Protocol Rewards: 10% (100 million tokens)

Participating in an Across Protocol (ACX) airdrop involves specific eligibility criteria and steps:

1. Eligibility Criteria:

> Early Users: If you used the Across bridge before July 19, 2022, you might be eligible.

> Liquidity Providers (LPs): Providing liquidity to Across pools before November 22, 2022, could qualify you.

> Community Contributors: Active participation in the Across community, such as being a Discord member with specific roles, may also make you eligible.

2. Check for Announcements: Stay updated with Across Protocol's official channels, for announcements about upcoming airdrops.

3. Claiming Process: If eligible, Across Protocol will provide instructions on how to claim your ACX tokens. This typically involves connecting your wallet to their platform and following the provided steps.
