Virtuals transform AI agents into "ownable businesses" AI agents are evolving from software features into on-chain entities that can be funded and profit-sharing. ① Virtuals Protocol launches an agent tokenization solution on Solana. Users can create agents, raise funds for them, purchase intelligent services, and enable them to participate in the on-chain economy using their own wallets. ② This model seeks to link ownership, funding, and revenue of agents: agents perform tasks and generate income, with token holders sharing in the economic outcomes. Conceptually, it resembles a company more than just a chatbot. ③ The risks are equally straightforward. Issuing tokens and demonstrating automated operations is easy; consistently acquiring customers, controlling costs, and ensuring output quality, however, is difficult. An agent without revenue will ultimately remain nothing more than a token wrapped in an AI shell. ④ My personal view: I am bullish on verifiable agent economies, but skeptical of “issue tokens first, find use cases later.” When evaluating an agent project, I prioritize real tasks, paying customers, and settlement records before examining token prices. The order cannot be reversed.
