      Real Bitcoin transitioned to Proof-of-Stake at block 301448. All BTCS have been mined using real BTC keys. Takes everything you know and love about Bitcoin and transitions to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) algorithm. This makes it more decentralized and clean for the environment.

      Why Proof-of-Stake starts in 2014?

      We understand that some in the PoW BTC community are too stubborn to make the switch and would do anything in their power to destroy BitcoinPoS. Starting in 2014 gives the community time to mine enough coins to hold off an attack from the PoW community.
