The Depository Trust Company has launched its Tokenization Service, bringing blockchain infrastructure directly into US securities markets.

✅ 20 financial firms signed access agreements, including JPMorgan, Citi and Fidelity.
✅ Eligible stocks, ETFs and US Treasuries can be represented as blockchain tokens.
✅ Initial networks: Canton and private Besu.
✅ Tokenized securities retain the rights and protections of their traditional counterparts.

Institutions can move eligible securities between traditional and tokenized formats, potentially improving collateral mobility and settlement efficiency.
