Marinade (MNDE) is the governance token of Marinade Finance, a liquid staking protocol built on the Solana blockchain. Stake SOL on Marinade Finance

You can earn rewards by staking your SOL through Marinade Finance. Instead of staking directly with Solana validators, you simply stake with Marinade.

Receive mSOL for Liquid Staking SOL

Upon staking SOL, you receive mSOL tokens in return. mSOL stands for Marinade staked SOL and represents your staked SOL plus the accrued staking rewards. The value of mSOL gradually increases over time relative to SOL as you accumulate staking rewards.

Decentralized and Automatic Validator Selection

Marinade automatically allocates the staked SOL to a diverse set of validators on the Solana network. This process optimizes yield and contributes to the Solana blockchain's decentralization and security.

Marinade Finance launched its liquid staking protocol and the mSOL liquid staking token on the Solana mainnet in August 2021. The MNDE governance token, which plays a crucial role in the Marinade ecosystem by allowing holders to participate in protocol governance, was minted later on November 7, 2021.

This launch was part of a fair-launch approach, meaning it did not involve an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Marinade Finance further enhanced its governance system by introducing on-chain DAO governance in April 2022, enabling more direct control and decision-making by MNDE holders within the platform​.

In July 2023, Marinade Finance made significant changes to its MNDE token distribution and liquidity mining program. The focus shifted from time-based emissions to rewarding TVL (Total Value Locked) milestones. Consequently, liquidity mining gauges were paused, and the primary methods for receiving MNDE became contributions to the DAO, grant proposals, milestones, or the Open Doors Program.

This strategy aims to allocate more MNDE from the total 1 billion supply primarily when protocol TVL increases. These changes mark a strategic shift in Marinade Finance's approach to token distribution and incentive structures within its ecosystem.

The Marinade Finance (MNDE) token is primarily used for governance within the Marinade ecosystem. As an MNDE holder, you can participate in decision-making processes, influencing key aspects of the protocol.
