#Ethereum Staking Hits Record 43.8M ETH in Q3 2026 as Staking Yields Fall to 2.63% Ethereum Staking Reaches Record High as Yields Decline

Ethereum staking achieved a significant milestone in Q3 2026, reaching a record 43.8 million ETH, equivalent to 35.9% of the total ETH supply. According to Bitwise, nearly 2 million ETH entered staking during the quarter, marking the sixth consecutive quarter of positive net inflows. This growing participation highlights the continued confidence of investors and institutions in Ethereum's long-term potential and network security.

However, the impressive growth in staking comes alongside declining rewards. Ethereum's gross annualized staking yield fell from 2.81% in Q2 to 2.63% in Q3. As more ETH enters staking, rewards are distributed across a larger pool, reducing the yield earned per staked ETH. Lower transaction fees and reduced MEV revenue also contributed to the decline.

Despite lower yields, the record staking level reflects Ethereum's expanding ecosystem and its importance in the broader blockchain industry. The trend highlights a key dynamic: increasing network participation can strengthen security while simultaneously putting pressure on individual staking returns.

Ethereum's future staking growth will depend on network adoption, institutional participation, transaction activity, and reward economics. For the ecosystem, this milestone represents both growing confidence and an evolving balance between security and profitability.

🚨 BITCOIN AT AN 8-MONTH HIGH — BUT ALL EYES ON TODAY'S TRUMP–XI SUMMIT 🚨

$BTC touched ~$87,000 this week, its highest level in eight months, before pulling back ~3% to around $84,200. Here's what's driving the market:

📈 ETF money is flowing back

Spot Bitcoin ETFs logged $1.71B in inflows this week — the best week since late August. Monday alone saw nearly $1B, the biggest single-day inflow of 2026.

🏦 Strategy is buying again

Michael Saylor's Strategy bought 950 BTC (~$75.7M), lifting its holdings to 846,000 BTC. It's the first purchase since Aug 31.

⚡ Short squeeze fuel

Over $647M in short positions were liquidated in one day, adding momentum to the rally.

⚖️ Regulation: mixed signals

The CLARITY Act failed in the Senate (49–50) on Sept 15, and the Fed hiked rates the next day. Yet BTC rebounded ~14% since. The SEC also announced an exemption for tokenized stocks on-chain, a big step for TradFi × crypto.

🌍 Today's key event: Trump–Xi meeting

Markets are cautious. The last summit in May pushed BTC down nearly 5%. Expect volatility whichever way the headlines go.

🧨 Industry shake-up

BitMEX has officially shut down after 11 years, and CoinEx will close by Dec 22.

💬 My take: Institutions are buying, but macro headlines can flip sentiment fast. Manage your risk, use stop-losses, and avoid over-leveraging around big events.

What's your move — buy the dip, or wait for the summit outcome? 👇
