Multiple crypto bridges exploited

July 22, at least three bridges drained $35M in 6 hours, including $24.15M from AFX, $7.54M from Verus, and $3.86M from B² Network due to logic flaws and compromised keys.

DeFi Infrastructure Under Fire: $35.5M Lost Across Three Exploits in One Day

The market is hitting a breaking point. On top of steep valuation declines, three separate protocols were exploited within a single 24 hour window:

AFX Trade $24.15 million (Compromised bridge keys)

Verus Bridge $7.55 million (Logic check gap)

B² Network $3.86 million (Smart contract vulnerability)

When macro conditions are already punishing token valuations, structural vulnerabilities in cross chain infrastructure make holding on chain assets even higher risk. Priority 1 right now isn't yield it's capital preservation.

CAP

CAP has climbed 12.37% to around $0.022761, showing a strong return of bullish momentum. The token is now in a key decision zone where buyers must defend the breakout and push toward new highs. If momentum remains consistent, another expansion could follow. TG1: $0.025. TG2: $0.028. TG3: $0.033. Volume will be essential for confirming continuation. A failed breakout could quickly send price back toward support. Pro tip: do not focus only on the percentage gain. Track market structure, liquidity, and volume together before deciding whether the move has enough strength to justify a new position.

STABLE

STABLE is up 12.25%, trading near $0.040608, and the move shows buyers are firmly active. The token is gaining momentum, but the next move will depend on whether this strength can hold above the recent breakout area. A successful retest could create a strong continuation setup. TG1: $0.0445. TG2: $0.050. TG3: $0.058. If buyers continue defending higher lows, the trend can remain bullish. A rejection with heavy volume would change the picture. Pro tip: wait for confirmation after a sharp rally; entering during a controlled retest usually offers better risk management than buying the highest candle.

BNKR

BNKR has gained 12.16%, trading around $0.0003853. The move signals improving demand and a possible shift in short-term market structure. Buyers now need to hold the breakout area and continue building higher lows to keep the rally alive. TG1: $0.000425. TG2: $0.000480. TG3: $0.000560. A volume-backed continuation could attract fresh momentum, while a failed breakout may trigger fast profit-taking. Pro tip: low-priced tokens can experience large percentage swings in both directions. Keep position size controlled and define your invalidation before entering, especially when volatility expands suddenly.

If you think Cardano governance is a shithole now, wait until DReps push for and succeed to getting paid via the treasury. If this happens I'm out. Cardano will very much be akin to a blundering 3rd world country, ruled by bureaucrats.

Series: The Truth About Cryptocurrencies – Episode 23 Episode 23 of the series “The Truth About Cryptocurrencies” focuses on: “When They Break: Why Algorithmic Stablecoins Go to Zero.” Algorithmic stablecoins aim to maintain a $1 price peg solely through mathematical formulas and market incentives, without any backing by real-world assets such as fiat currency. However, their very structure contains a critical vulnerability. On July 20, 2026, the sharp declines in Bitcoin and Ethereum, the resulting 15% drop in total value locked (TVL) across DeFi platforms, and the near-total collapse of Balance Coin—losing 99% of its value—symbolized a harsh reality: once algorithmic stablecoins lose trust, they enter a “death spiral” from which, theoretically, there is no recovery to zero. In contrast, traditional asset-backed stablecoins (such as USDC and USDT) are supported by tangible assets like cash or government bonds, providing a buffer even during surges in redemption requests. Algorithmic stablecoins, however, are trapped in an infinite negative feedback loop: the more they are sold, the more their issuer’s value declines; and the more their value declines, the more they are sold. This fundamental difference was again demonstrated by the collapse of UST and the recent Balance Coin incident. Regulatory authorities are now paying increasingly close attention to algorithmic stablecoins, raising serious questions about their structural viability. As regulatory scrutiny intensifies and market volatility continues to rise, the risks of new entrants failing and capital flight from existing projects will become even more apparent. Investors must focus on this structural inevitability—the defining difference between algorithmic and asset-backed stablecoins—when evaluating why these tokens can—and often do—fall to zero. #markets #investing ※Investing involves risk. 🔑 Arbitrum Ecosystem Cross-Chain Bridge Again Targeted in Attack; Hot Validator Signatures Exploited AFX Trade’s bridge keys were compromised, enabling attackers to approve the withdrawal of 24.15 million USDC using forged hot validator signatures. Arbitrum’s official statement confirmed its native bridge remained unaffected, but the incident once again highlights security vulnerabilities in third-party bridges within its ecosystem. The core issue lies in “hot validator signatures”—where validator private keys are stored online, making them susceptible to theft and signature forgery. Similar mechanisms were exploited in prior attacks on Ronin and Wormhole. Although AFX Trade’s losses are smaller than those of major historical breaches, a $24 million loss still deals a significant blow to trust in the L2 ecosystem. For ARB holders, the security of the native bridge remains fundamental, but repeated incidents involving third-party bridges undermine the broader narrative. Key questions moving forward: Can AFX Trade recover the stolen funds? Will Arbitrum implement stricter audit requirements for ecosystem bridges? $USDC #afx #arb #stablecoin #regulation #riskalert #projectmonitoring #hashanalysis #blockchain #cryptomarket #crypto #web3 #hashchainnews #arbitrum #afxtrade #crosschainbridge #securityincident #defi
