A regulated U.S. bank just launched its own stablecoin on @Solana, and pushed it to 15M users inside the banking app. @SoFi USD (SoFiD) is the first stablecoin from a nationally chartered bank. They picked Solana for cost and settlement speed. @CashApp is also adding USDC on Solana. Two mainstream finance apps choosing the same chain in the same week. Block's Cash app has begun rolling out USDC stablecoin payments to approximately 25% of its nearly 60 million users, with plans to include all users by the end of the week, according to CoinDesk. This marks a significant shift for CEO Jack Dorsey, who has traditionally been a Bitcoin supporter. The feature supports USDC on Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum, with strict transaction limits and is unavailable in New York and for sponsored accounts. The integration treats stablecoins as a payment method, not an investment tool.
