Global bond yields surge

Oct 6, Japan’s 10-year bond yield rose to 3.101%, while U.S. 30-year Treasury yield hit 5.7%, a 24-year high. French 10-year yield climbed to 4.889%.

I find the U.S. Congressional Budget Office’s forecast quite alarming. If U.S. government debt truly rises to 175% of GDP over the next 30 years, it demonstrates how difficult it will be to maintain long-term control over debt levels. This ultimately affects not just the U.S., but could also impact interest rates, financial markets, and the global economy. I believe such figures shouldn’t be dismissed as mere long-term projections—they deserve serious attention. 😕

About one or two quarters to go before US and French bond markets seize up based on best Grok guesstimates: "America: 6%, or the first 10-year auction that tails hard and leaves the dealers holding it, whichever comes first, and on the recent pace that is this winter rather than the full roll. France: the spread, not the yield, and the clock is the budget and the election, inside the next two quarters. The cap follows the failed sale. It does not arrive on a chart."

🚨 BREAKING 🇺🇸 U.S. TREASURY WILL BUY BACK UP TO $6,000,000,000.00 OF ITS OWN DEBT TODAY! THAT MEANS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS COULD FLOW BACK INTO THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM, PROVIDING FRESH LIQUIDITY WHEN MARKETS NEED IT MOST. MORE LIQUIDITY = MORE FUEL FOR STOCKS AND CRYPTO. EXTREMELY BULLISH FOR MARKETS!!!

avatar

🚨 JUST IN: 🇺🇸 The U.S. Treasury is set to buy back up to $6B of longer-term government debt tomorrow. The buyback is designed to improve liquidity in longer-dated Treasuries and could put some downward pressure on yields. Lower yields can support risk assets, including Bitcoin $BTC, if the move eases financial conditions.

GM to the supportive ones ☀️ Yesterday's Fed minutes made one thing painfully clear. The market is hoping for some relief. The Fed isn't quite there yet. 😂 Most policymakers still believe another rate hike will likely be needed before the end of 2026. Meanwhile, Bitcoin slipped toward $83K. US 10-year Treasury yields climbed above 5.3%. Oil pushed past $100. And crypto traders got another reminder that leverage doesn't care about your conviction. Here's what bothers me about the current narrative... People keep treating weaker economic data as an automatic liquidity injection. It isn't. The Fed can become less aggressive while financial conditions remain painfully tight. Those are two very different things. Higher energy costs can fuel inflation. Higher bond yields compete for capital. And when relatively safe assets offer attractive yields, speculative markets have to work harder to attract money. Bitcoin isn't operating in a vacuum. Neither is PulseChain. Neither is your favorite memecoin with a dog wearing sunglasses. 😂 So I'm not obsessing over whether the Fed sounds bullish enough for Crypto Twitter. I'm watching whether financial conditions actually start improving. Because there's a big difference between the market EXPECTING relief...and liquidity actually arriving. Until then, patience beats pretending every red candle is the final dip. #BTC #FED #OIL #cryptocurrency

U.S., Taiwan, Japan, and South Korean stocks, along with crypto, all declined! U.S. 10-year Treasury yield surged to 5.3%, impacting global markets. ⭐ Favorable conditions for markets include: a gradual decline in the 10-year Treasury yield, controlled inflation, weakening employment data, and reduced expectations for rate hikes. Bond Price and Yield Relationship: Buy bonds → Price rises → Yield falls Sell bonds → Price falls → Yield rises (current situation) A 5.3% Treasury yield means earning 5.3% annual return over 10 years if held to maturity—effectively a long-term risk-free return, assuming no default risk from the U.S. government. Yields continue to rise because lingering inflation above target and expectations of further rate hikes are deterring investors from locking funds into 10-year bonds. Although the probability of a rate hike this month has dropped to 16%, the likelihood of a hike in December remains high at 75% (@Polymarket data).

U.S. bond yields are at their highest level in 24 years. The 10-year yield has surpassed 5.3%, and the 30-year yield briefly touched around 5.7%—all before the Fed’s meeting minutes were even released. I don’t see this news as “hot” as crypto charts, but this is what should truly concern risk assets. The higher the yields, the more reason investors have to stay out of risky assets. Earning 5%+ from bonds is far less stressful than chasing stocks or crypto. You don’t need a crash to feel pain—just a shift of capital toward safer alternatives. BTC may not react immediately; markets are used to digesting bad news and moving on. But if yields remain elevated for long, the pressure won’t disappear just because the charts haven’t turned red yet. The real question isn’t whether coins will dump today—it’s how long capital will stay in risky assets when safer options are offering such attractive returns. Are you treating these high yields as noise—or the real anchor weighing down risk assets?

Macro is squeezing risk from every side. 🗜️ 10-year yield hovering near 5.3%, levels not seen in over two decades. 30-year mortgage rate at 7.49%, highest in almost three years. Brent around $101. Dollar index back above 102. That's the headwind $BTC is fighting right now. Manage your risk. 🛡️

🌊 Liquidity Update The market remains in a 🟡 Neutral Liquidity Regime. Liquidity is not contracting, but it is still expensive and selective. The plumbing has become slightly more supportive while the price of capital remains restrictive. 💵 Dollar The latest broad dollar index is 121.38, down from 121.79 in the previous session but still firm. A strong funding currency keeps global financial conditions tight even when risk assets are rising. 🏦 Treasury Yields The latest available US 2 year yield is 4.84% and the 10 year is 5.31%. Both moved higher during the first days of October. These yields raise the hurdle rate for equities, crypto and non yielding assets. Liquidity can exist without becoming easy liquidity. 🏛 Monetary Conditions Reserve balances averaged about $2.95T in the latest week, up roughly $18B. The Treasury General Account fell about $28B to roughly $949B, which was a modest liquidity release. But overnight reverse repo usage is almost exhausted at only about $0.4B. This buffer can no longer provide a large additional tailwind. 💲 Digital Asset Liquidity Stablecoin supply is about $307.8B, up 0.49% over seven days and 1.26% over thirty days. Digital dollar liquidity is expanding, but not fast enough to signal broad risk appetite. 🚦 Liquidity Regime 🟡 Neutral and selective 💧 Liquidity Score 58 / 100 📈 Market Outlook Equities: quality and earnings visibility first. Crypto: liquid leaders before speculative breadth. Dollar: still a global constraint. Bonds: high yields keep the cost of capital restrictive. Liquidity is present. Its transmission remains selective.

If Bitcoin keeps falling: BTC ↓ → Risk-off → Treasury demand ↑ → Treasury prices ↑ → 10Y yields ↓ Maybe the next trade is already forming. 👀 #Bitcoin #Treasuries #Bonds #Markets
